Responsible Use
ToolConvoy tools process your files locally in your browser. No data is uploaded, stored, or shared. Our AI cleanup tools exist to give you control over metadata in files you own — and with that control comes responsibility. This page defines what our tools are for, and what they are not for.
Our Principles
We build client-side tools that operate on files you own, on your device, without network calls. We do not promote, encourage, or facilitate deceptive or fraudulent use of our tools. We publish these guidelines so that reviewers, partners, and users understand our ethical framework.
Permitted Uses
- ✓Privacy protection — Removing personal metadata (prompts, account IDs, location data, device identifiers) from your own files before sharing them publicly or with third parties.
- ✓Metadata hygiene — Cleaning up stale or misleading metadata from files you own — for example, stripping an outdated provenance chain after editing a composited image.
- ✓Readability improvement — Using the AI Text Humanizer to polish the style of content you authored, for personal or professional communication. The tool replaces inflated vocabulary and filler phrases with plainer alternatives.
- ✓Education and research — Using the AI Image Inspector to understand what metadata AI generators embed, for personal education, classroom demonstrations, or security research.
Prohibited Uses
- ✗Academic dishonesty — Using AI text humanization or image sanitization to submit AI-generated work as your own in any academic or certification context.
- ✗Platform ToS circumvention — Using our tools to bypass content moderation, platform policies, or terms of service of any website, social media platform, or marketplace.
- ✗Fraud or deception — Using our tools to misrepresent the origin, authorship, or authenticity of any content for commercial gain, legal advantage, or to harm others.
- ✗Content you do not own — Removing provenance information from files created by others without their explicit permission, or from files you do not have the legal right to modify.
Technical Commitment
All ToolConvoy tools run entirely client-side using JavaScript, Web Workers, WebAssembly, and the Canvas API. No file content is ever uploaded to any server. No processing logs are kept. No user activity is tracked beyond anonymous, aggregated page view counts through Cloudflare Web Analytics. You can verify this by opening your browser's Network tab while using any tool — the network counter stays at zero.
